DEFENDO with UMTS for Internet access or fallback

Quickly back Online - or - what to do if the Internet Connection is gone?
A different interface, independent from the original ISP interface and even hooked up to an alternative provider - that would be great...
...and is now available for the DEFENDO series:
Once plugged in DEFENDO's USB port, a UMTS stick can be set up as an ADSL interface in the GUI .
With user access information configured, the interface is ready for internet access over UMTS/GPRS, dependent on ISP and geographical position.
Under "Monitoring" within the GUI, you will find infos about the USB stick in action like signal quality and a list of available ISPs
In case of using DSL internet connections, the fallback looks even more comfortable.
As soon as the original internet connection fails, the SIM USB stick will overtake automatically.
When the DSL ISP connection is available again, DEFENDO will switch back automatically to the main connection.
Both events will cause an email to the administrator attention to inform about the total fallback time for future cost optimization.
In case of using leased lines, the switch back and forth has to be done manually.
Of cource the UMTS stick can be applied as the main ISP connection as well. That makes sence in geographical areas with poor DSL coverage.
