Functionality

In general

Based on S/MIME

Supports the domain certificate concept

For encryption and signing S/MIME keys are required for local email addresses

S/MIME keys used as domain key are free or charge

Individual S/MIME keys licensed by number

Multiple certificates per DEFENDO user possible

Automatic encryption of incoming mail

Previous to security-relevant action like virus scan or attachement filtering

Encryption indicated via icon or configurable prefix within "subject" (will be removed off reply automatically)

Optional tagging of mail as confidential (Sensitivity-Header)

Automatic signature verification of incoming mail

Result indication of signature check as icon or configurable prefix within "subject" (will be removed off reply automatically)

Optional CRL check

Optional removing of correct signatures

Import option of CA certificates from communication partners by email address or email domain, in particular for verification of signatures signed by selfmade CA certificates

Automatic import or import after approval of received certificates for automatic encryption of outgoing mail

Automatic signing of outgoing mail

After authentication or, for trusted sources, based on "From"-header

Disengageable per mail by configurable keyword within Subject
